Work Days: Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Job Description:
- Process payments for utility services
- Collect, batch, and rout all mail to proper departmetns
- Balance and enter payments received by mail, night depository and pay stations, using the RemitPlus System
- Process on-line payments
- Answer a multi-line phone insuring that the calls are routed to the correct department
- Receives all incoming calls related to water billing, request for transferring of service and general complaints, etc; issues appropriate work orders for all customer requests
- Assess commercial or residential deposits using historical data and customer credit history
- Review customer applications identification and services requested to prevent fraud or monetary loss to the utility
- Assist customer with payments plans as needed
- Insure that all past-due amounts from previous locations are paid prior to the establishment of a new account
- General data entry 10 key and filing
- Scan documents source documents
- Perform all other duties as assigned

- Ability to make decision in accordance with establish policies and procedures
- Ability to answer phone calls and questions in a clear, well-modulated and pleasant voice tone, and to express oneself effectively
- Ability to maintain careful attention to details while assisting customers, taking money, returning change, issuing orders and in performing other billing functions
- Ability to document details of customer interactions in a manner that will be complete and understood by others
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the general public and all other utility personnel
- Skill in the use and care of a standard calculator and personal computer
- Shall be able to left light weight
